The leader of the British Knights, along with other soldiers, barge into the ballroom, holding knives and rifles.
"We're here! Fear not, we'll-- eh?"
The ballroom goes silent, and with a sigh, all of the soldiers lose their tough composure.
"It's already been taken care of!"
"I was hoping for some action..."
"This is what I get for being called out at nine in the evening?!"
The eyes of the disappointed army shift to an angry-looking boy, and a kneeling butler looking solemnly at a bloodied girl lying in his lap.
"It's the Earl Phantomhive!"
"But who's that?!"
"It's Her Majesty's assistant!"
"What are you waiting for?! Get over there!"
The knights rush over to the three, and the dying girl notices them, lifts up her head shakily and gives them a weak smile, with a faint glow in her eyes.
Then her head drops.
The butler leans toward her lips and "listens for breathing."
"You are a fool, My Lady. A beautifully desirable fool," he whispers under his breath.
Then he lifts his head. "She's gone, My Lord."
"Tch," the earl flinches. "Sebastian, this is all your fault! Let's go."
The butler nods and picks up her body, looking into the lifeless pupils of the human once more, before handing the body to the knights. Then he bows and leaves.
"Wait, Ciel! I want you to answer some questions!" The head knight shouts.
"I'll talk to you over the phone sometime tomorrow," Ciel replies. "I'm tired for now.
The two ride back to the manor in absolute silence.

Sebastian looks at the earl with uncertainty as he opens the doors to the mansion. "Young Master, shall I prepare some hot milk for you? You should relax after today's--"
"I'm fine," Ciel snaps, storming up to his room.
Reading horror novels in an attempt to forget about the ball, he looks up in surprise when he hears a knock on the library door. "Come in."
Sebastian walks in with a tea tray. "I have prepared Ashwaganda Tea, My Lord. It is said to clear your mind, calm stress and promote well-being," he explains as he drops a single sugar cube into the cup.
Ciel grabs it from his butler and sips it with an annoyed expression. "It's fine."
"I suppose you wouldn't want to see what I found then, My Lord?" Sebastian snickers.
"What? You found something? What is it?" Ciel demands, automatically energized.
Sebastian pulls out a silver platter, and pulls off the lid, revealing a bottle of red liquid in the center surrounded by sparkling knives.
Almost spitting out his tea, the earl stands up and takes one of the knives, studying it in astonishment. "These knives are..."
"Her Majesty's assistant was using a special blend of polymer in these blades. I thought I would collect them for further investigation. I do not know of this material's origin, but it seems very much classified at the moment," the butler explains.
"And this red liquid?" Ciel asks.
"It's blood," Sebastian describes, looking rather disturbed.
"So what? What's with that face? It's just blood, isn't it? Where did you get it from, anyway?"
"I found this in one of Lady _____'s dress pockets," he replies. "I believe the blood belongs to her."
"So what? Be straight to the point!" Ciel demands.
"Demon blood," Sebastian mutters quickly.
"This blood belongs to a demon."
Ciel's face goes pale, the shock in his eyes becoming clearly visible. "How... how? Is she a demon? But, no, you said she was human..."
"It confuses me, as well. You're looking stressed, My Lord. I'll open the window to let in some fresh air," Sebastian suggests, walking over to the nearby window and slipping it open.
A small paper airplane flies through the window and onto the library floor.
Sebastian picks it up and unfolds it, noticing a note written on the paper.
He reads it, to become slightly discomforted.
"Sebastian! What's taking so long?" Ciel yells, turning his head from the chair.
With his back to the young earl, Sebastian quickly tucks away the note. "Nothing, My Lord."
Ciel lets out an annoyed sigh. "I want to go to bed," he complains, yawning.
"Let us go then, Young Master," Sebastian chuckles, helping the earl up from his chair and leading him out of the extensive library, giving the forest outside of the open window a final glance.
Hiding in a tree, a giggling man flips his silver locks out of his face.

The clock reads 3 am.
Sebastian finishes up financial reports and stashes them away in folders to mail away the next day. He takes out the bottle of dark red blood again and studies it closely.
He takes out the note out of his pocket, reading over it again.
Slowly, he twists open the cap and smells the aroma of the fluid.
Simply incredible, just like its owner.
I would have never dreamed of getting my hands on something like this.
So how did she?
Licking his lips, the hungry demon takes off his glove and dips a finger into the blood. He touches the blood-stained finger to his lips and closes his eyes.
Utter ecstasy. This would send any demon into a trance. It's amazing.
I don't know what you are, My Lady, but I certainly hope you aren't dead.
"Drink it," the note screams once again.
If I did I would go insane.
Sebastian wipes away the blood on his fingers and closes the bottle.
It truly is a shame someone like that died. I really have made a mistake this time.
A soul so perfect...
...has been wasted in my hands.

"Wahhh! S-she's gone... I... never even got to speak to her that much... who a-am I going to look u-up to to look c-cute anymore?!" Elizabeth sobs, wearing a black gown and placing flowers on a gravestone. Her maid tries to comfort her.
"I heard she was a beautiful lady, yes!" Mey-Rin sniffs.
"It's such a shame."
"I heard she killed herself trying to save that little brat over there!"
"Really? Goes to show you, the rich rule the world."
A large mass of nobles and knights stand in the garden behind the royal palace, all wearing black and looking over the gravestone in the middle of the patch of roses.
Ciel stands with his butler, looking annoyed.
"I can literally hear them talking about me," he grumbles. "Again, this is--"
"My fault, My Lord. I apologize for the tenth time this week," Sebastian replies, obviously annoyed as well.
"You'll avenge her, won't you, boy?" A sweet voice speaks from behind. Ciel nods.
Everyone turns around and bows. "Your Majesty!"
"It's fine, settle down. She was a sweet girl. Please don't blame the boy for her passing; I was the one that made her promise to protect him," the queen explains.
The crowd looks at each other and whispers arise. However, they all eventually nod, and watch the queen walk up to the gravestone with tears in her eyes.
"I made you promise nobody would die," she smiles. "You forgot that it included you as well," Victoria whispers as she places a hand on her deceased assistant's name, carved into the stone.
The queen then leaves, being comforted by her three servants. Earl Grey gives the patch of roses a sad look, before escorting the queen away, giving Ciel a glare.
"Looking down, are we, earl?" A raspy voice whispers into Ciel's ear.
The earl turns around in alarm. "Undertaker!"
"Hee hee, what're you looking so scared for?" He giggles.
"I was surprised, that's all," Ciel replies, face slightly pink. "Anyway, you were here to bury the coffin, right?"
"Yes, and I also made it," the undertaker points out. "Don't forget that. It's my specialty. I made hers out of limestone."
"What?! Limestone's going to disintegrate in less than a month, in this rainy weather!" Ciel protests. "What are you up to?"
"Yes, a month," he giggles. "That should be enough time," he continues as he gives Sebastian a look. "Hey, butler. You know what I've been into lately?" He asks, walking behind the butler.
"What have you been up to?" Sebastian asks, rather suspiciously.
Sebastian's eyes widen and he turns around, but the undertaker has disappeared.

"Good night, My Lord," Sebastian says quietly, closing the door of the earl's bedroom. He walks to the main hall, and looks out of a window next to the front door.
His eyes narrow.
The butler walks to the kitchen, where he finds the three servants lounging.
"I have a job for you," he explains. Their eyes light up in delight.
"Really? A job?"
"We're good for a lot of things!"
"Ho ho ho..."
"I believe we have a single intruder tonight. I want you to dispose of or capture them. That is all," Sebastian smiles, and leaves.
"Come on!" Mey-Rin smiles determinedly. "It's just one person, and we can't let him down!"
"Yeah! Let's go!" Finny laughs.
"I can show off my new upgrade!" Bard smiles evilly.
The three run out to the balcony, leaving a tea-sipping Tanaka in the kitchen.
Sebastian walks into Ciel's room and stands beside the window, guarding the room.
He hears some gunshots outside, and some muffled dialogue.
But then a huge explosion echoes through the walls.
The sound of footsteps comes closer and closer, until a hooded figure places a foot into the bedroom. Sebastian readies a knife in his hand.
Before he can even react, the hooded figure points a sharp rock at his neck.
"Oh good, it's only you," a soothing female voice whispers.
Is she really? "And you are?"
"Hey," she smiles, taking off her hood.
"You're alive, My Lady?" Sebastian ponders, surprised, but not completely shocked.
"I believe it's obvious now that I'm not human," She explains, "But let me tell you..."
"A prepared fool, is not a fool."
The words echoed through the butler's mind.
"You were prepared for it?" Sebastian asks. "Rather, why would you bother?"
"If I die, I come back to life. If your "master" dies, he's gone for good, and so is your next dinner. You should thank me," she smiles. "But as for why, though..." she begins to ponder.
"Why would you bother saving him?" Sebastian asks again.
"I don't know. I just think that it's the better thing to do," she giggles.
That blood I tasted lacked something.
I found it.
And it's perfect.
"How generous of you, My Lady," Sebastian smiles.
"Oh, that's right. I believe you took something that belongs to me," she continues. "I want it back. You have my bottle of poison?"
"You mean the bottle of your blood?" Sebastian smirks. "I have it, but I'd like to ask a question first."
"What are you?"
Her eyes narrow. "I am a half-demon. Nothing more."
"That seems obvious enough by now. More exactly, who is your mother?"
Looking at the ground, she replies uncomfortably, "The Banished One, Sebastian. You know that by now, don't you?"
Sebastian opens his mouth to speak, but is cut off by her laugh.
"So, what is it you want, demon?" She whispers, looking up at Sebastian with a calm smile. She moves her face closer to his, her eyes putting the demon in a trance.
"My body... or my soul?"
